Khaled Jarada

Born in Gaza in 1996 and currently based in France, Khaled Jarada is a Palestinian visual artist and children’s book illustrator. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in multimedia from the University of Palestine. Khaled has illustrated numerous children’s and youth books for various publishing houses and has participated in several local and international art exhibitions. In 2020, he received a grant from the French Institute for his project “Pandemic Diaries.” That same year, he participated in an art residency at Shababik for Contemporary Art in Gaza, and in 2021, he took part in an art residency at the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome.

Khaled Jarada's works, primarily figurative, focus on his identity as both an individual and an artist. They explore the interaction of the human body with the pressures of reality, particularly the impact of the siege and the devastating wars on the Gaza Strip. His art subtly demonstrates how these experiences shape the behavior of the body and reveal the underlying psychological effects on his human body.
