Alaa Abu Seif
Born in Khan Yunis, Alaa Abu Seif is a visual artist living and working in Gaza. His passion for art began at a young age, leading him to pursue a degree in Art Education at Al-Aqsa University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Alaa is currently an art teacher and trainer, sharing his creativity and enthusiasm with younger generations. Alaa's artistic journey began with participation in various group exhibitions, including the Al-Aqsa University Exhibition in 2003 and the UNRWA Graduates Association Exhibition.
He continued to showcase his work at prominent events such as the Spring Exhibition at Al-Aqsa University in 2005 and the Nakba Exhibition at Al-Azhar University in 2006. Notably, he contributed to the creation of Palestine's longest sculptural mural, The Roots of My Land, at Al-Aqsa University. Alaa has also played a significant role in producing impactful murals, including Solidarity with the Iraqi People (2003) and a mural supporting Rafah in collaboration with the Culture and Free Thought Association. Between 2000 and 2006, he contributed to several Nakba murals, the Victory and Liberation mural (2005), and tributes to Rachel Corrie and Yasser Arafat. In addition to his work in visual arts, Alaa has designed scenography for several theatrical productions. He is an active member of numerous artistic organizations, including the Palestinian Visual Artists Association, and is a founding member of the Phoenix of Palestine Visual Artists Forum. Additionally, he serves as the visual arts coordinator for the Binaa Association and is a member of the Palette Visual Arts Group.
