Fuad Khater

A contemporary visual artist born in 1997 in Khan Yunis, Gaza, Palestine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Al-Aqsa University ↗ in Gaza. After attending several art workshops, including an engraving and printing workshop at Iltiqaa Gallery and an aesthetics workshop at Dar Al-Kalima University, Fuad Khater dedicated himself to visual arts. He has participated in several group exhibitions and organized some of them, including the 2019 "Pink Fingertips" exhibition held at the YMCA. His work addresses themes of loss and pain on both personal and collective levels. It also depicts scenes of life from Gaza, emphasizing local and traditional features. Fuad is also known as a muralist, having completed several murals in public spaces across Gaza. Additionally, he works as an art trainer specializing in drawing and painting. Fuad is part of the “Sahab Museum” project initiated by the Hawaf Art Collective.

In January 2024, Fuad was displaced from his home in the Al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Yunis and moved to a tent in the Muwasi area for five months. After the withdrawal of Israeli tanks from his neighborhood, Fuad visited his home, only to find it reduced to rubble, with nothing left to salvage. His studio was also burned, and his artworks were completely destroyed. Currently, Fuad lives with his family, wife, and grandfather in an apartment in the Austrian neighborhood near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.
